2020 was a unique year not just for the Supercup windsurfing series. Despite the hard times we managed to keep the flame burning and organize all three Supercup events this year. With total of 123 participants in Techno and Raceboard classes. Big thanks to all the organisers and participant this year, who often had to walk an extra mile just to make simple things happen. The Techno293 class was dominated this year by the Slovak team. Winner of the first event in Czech republic finishing 5th in Balaton, Hungary and second in Domasa, Slovakia, Matej Stefaniciak (SVK 27) became the overall winner of the Supercup series as well as U17 and Techno293 winner. Followed by his teammates Ondrej Szitas (SVK 18), Jakub Pribylka (SVK 59) and Leo Slosiar (SVK 22). Fifth was the winner of 2 events Mate Kossovics (HUN 401), who unfortunately did not participate in first event in Czech Republic. Best Techno 293 plus was Bruno Negyelicky (HUN 2004) and best girl this year on Techno 293 was Luca Arendas (HUN 187) from Hungary.
In the Raceboard class we had 3 different winners Santa Bence, Petr Kucera, Patrik Pollák in 3 national events. Each of those riders dominated the Supercup event in his own country. But none of those winners reached all the way to the top in series ranking. All the event winners had to settle for tie in third place because they did not compete in the other Supercup events. Finishing second overall was the best Grand Master Milan Duchnovsky (SVK 26) and Supercup series winner this year in senior category is Robert Kubín (SVK 2), who participated in all Supercup events and his results within top 5 put him all the way on the top in series ranking. Consistency being the key.
Stay safe and all the best in 2021. See you all on water with more Supercup events in 2021.
