Safety Update – Türkiye / İzmir Region
We are aware that, in light of the broader geopolitical situation in the Middle East, some teams have raised questions regarding travel to Türkiye.
We have reviewed the latest official travel advisories from multiple government sources. Current advisories generally recommend normal caution when travelling. The venue of the 2026 Techno293 World Championships is located in the İzmir region, which is geographically distant from the areas affected. The region is one of Türkiye’s main major international tourist destination, and regularly hosts international sporting events and large-scale tourism activities.
The Turkish Sailing Federation (TYF) has confirmed to us that there are no restrictions affecting the organisation of the event at this time, and preparations continue according to plan. Based on the official information available to us and ongoing coordination with TYF, the event will proceed as scheduled.
Regarding equipment logistics, charter equipment is currently being checked at the factory. Loading is scheduled for mid-month, and delivery to the venue remains on timeline. We are monitoring this process closely to ensure full readiness for the championship.
Teams Travelling with Own Equipment
Teams bringing their own equipment to Türkiye are reminded of the following customs requirements:
To bring your equipment into Türkiye, you must obtain an ATA Carnet from your local Chamber of Commerce.

2026 Techno293 European Championships – Sopot, Poland
Registration is now open for the 2026 Techno293 European Championships in Sopot.
We encourage teams to secure their entries and book accommodation early, as Sopot is a popular summer destination and availability may become limited.
