After an intense week alternating weather, also perturbed and almost winter temperatures ended with a beautiful sunny day, at Circolo Surf Torbole on the Garda Trentino, the European Techno Championships 293, organized in collaboration with the International Class and the Italian Sailing Federation. A joy to see so many young people (270 from 16 nations) in the regatta. Important numbers especially among the youngest under 13 and under 15. Techno class proves to be essential for preparing surfers for regatta and introducing the youngest to the wonderful world of away trips, as well as competitions.

From the south to the north of Italy, like in Europe: massive Greek, Turkish participation, but teams from Estonia, Great Britain, Hungary were not missing. The high lake of Garda did not betray and despite the variable and partly disturbed week, the wind has always allowed to haggle, thanks also to the prompt work of the two Regatta Committees. Ten races in total for senior U17 and Plus, nine for under 13s and under 15. On the last day the south wind blew at 12-14 knots, allowing for three nice and fun gliding regatta. Great satisfaction for the Torbole Surf Circle, which started the season of great sporting events, with perhaps the class and category they care most about, representing the nursery of international windsurfing. Great satisfaction for the same organizer, to see two of their athletes get on the podium, confirming the great work always done among the very young.

The comment of the technical staff of Circolo Surf Torbole after this European: “We are very happy to have been competitive in all categories until the last, with different athletes on the way, demonstrating how the club always believes in the youth and in the Techno class.” Unfortunately we had little time to aim really high at this European, but it was a very important experience for the younger ones, their first international experience (Edoardo Rasponi the smallest in the 4m sailing race), which gives confidence for the rest of the season and for the world cup of Quiberon is scheduled for early August, in which girls and boys will surely want to be the protagonists. We remind you that the Circolo Surf Torbole in the last three weeks has been the star in four competitions: Coppa Italia Techno Ravenna / Cupa del mondo iQFoil Palma / iQ International Champion Games and finally this European Techno European Techno; a great effort on multiple fronts, which is engaging great ones men’s resources and resources for the future of our young athletes”.
