After a long summer, the Andalusian Sailing Federation (ASF) has now set its sights on its winter programme.

“Yet again, we will be holding the V New Year’s Race from the 1st to 5th January (Techno 293, RSX M, W and 8.5 youth) and the Carnival Race at the end of February (RSX M, W and 8.5 youth). The website is up and running at www.fav.es with online entries and NoR. [more]

Work is well underway for the high performance training centre in Puerto Sherry which will have residential training facilities for up to 60 sailors and is scheduled to be opened in 2009. Any teams taking part in either/both of the above races can train and use the federation’s facilities free of charge this winter.”

This is also a great opportunity for those not yet familiar with the venue to prepare for New Year 2010. The ASF, and Porto Sherry will host the 2010 Junior Youth and Masters European Championships.

For Techno 293 racers this will be a Qualification Regatta for the Youth Olympics scheduled for Singapore in August 2010.
