After a lazy day on Tuesday, just two races were completed today in variable winds.  A total of four races now means that a discard comes into play.[more]

13 year-old Kieran Martin of Great Britain happily discards his 10th place in race three and two firsts and a second mean that he is 7 clear points ahead of second-placed Jack Plummer, also GBR.  Amir Galili from Israel in third is only one point behind Jack but is a comfortable 9 points clear of the rest of the 6.8 fleet.

In the girls U-15, Veronica Fanciulli from Italy is at the top but cannot afford to relax at all as fellow Italian Catherine Fogli is only 1 point behind her.  Lara Lagoa from Spain has come third in every race – very few competitors in this competition have had consistent results in these variable conditions.

Arkadiusz Brzozowski is at the top of the 7.8 fleet and fellow Pole Pawel Tarnowski is in second.  Omer Sofer from Israel is currently sitting in third place.

And in the 7.8 girls, Helen Noesmoen now has a perfect score of 3 as she has dropped her second gained in race 1.  Brit Izzy Hamilton has not done so well today and her second place is being challenged by Joanna Evans, also from Great Britain who is only 1 point behind her in third place.

Spain dominates the Open Fleet with Marc Escandell at the top with three points and Esther de Geus from the Netherlands leads the ladies open.

Stay tuned for more racing tomorrow but meanwhile enjoy stunning pictures by Irek Stosik of today’s racing in the picture gallery
