On the final day of racing, and the end of a fantastic Championship, Antonio Bonet (ESP 70) is the boys 2012 Techno 293 Youth World Champion.  [more]Second and third finished on equal points – Tomer Blum (ISR 652) took the silver and Michele Cittadini (ITA 38) had to settle for bronze after the tie break.

Marta Magetti (ITA 157) is the girls 2012 Techno 293 Youth World Champion having won all of the final races after dropping only two of the qualifying races.  Thus she was a clear 15 points ahead of second placed Hadar Heller (ISR 659) who was a clear 13 points ahead of her nearest rivals where the real battles took place.  Elena Vacca (ITA 52) only just kept Emma Labourne off the podium – both on equal points, the tie break was in Elena’s favour.  5th and 6th placed Emma Wilson and Stefaniya Elfutina were also tied, just two points behind.

Tom Monnet (FRA 320) is the boys 2012 Techno 293 Junior World Champion. Yet again, tie breaks had to determine final positions which gave Cntonino Cangemi (ITA 17) the silver position and Francisco Saubidet (ARG 40) the bronze.  Unlike the youth girls however, these three were clear ahead of their nearest rivals.

No tie breaks needed in the u15 girls as Lucine Bossard (FRA 166) becomes the girls 2012 Techno 293 Junior World Champion.  Gieorgia Speciale (ITA 1) was second and Giulia Alagna (ITA 28) was third.

Great competition in the Techno Open Fleet as each of the top five had at least one race win.  Total French domination of the podium as Julien Bouyer (FRA 192) was the worthy winner, Maxime Abrien (FRA 235) just two points behind was second and Olivier Tuhault (FRA 863), again only another two points behind, was third.  First woman was Iseda Megumi (JPN 35) in fourth place overall with Nora Lindland (NOR 24) second (6th overall) and Els Grahovac (BEL 115) third (9th overall).

So, at the end of a record breaking mega event what is left but to party in spectacular – wet and messy – fashion as the sun goes down and to thank the organisers for their wonderful hospitality.
