From Maundy Thursday April 17th to Saturday April 19th Circolo Surf Torbole will organise an international T293 regatta, a delightful preview of the Europeans. [more]A fantastic training opportunity to experience the wind and water conditions of Garda Lake just before the championship begins.
With just 5 days left to claim the eur 30 discount, entries to the Techno 293 Europeans from 20th to 27th April 2014 are flying in through the door. Another 60 competitors have signed up in the last four days bringing the current total to over 140. We are delighted to welcome a team from Hong Kong, along with competitors from Algeria and the USA, joining 16 European countries.
The French have entered in force already. Worlds runner up in the Boys u15, Tom Monnet, moves up to the u17 fleet, as does Julian Rocco. Tom Garandeau, 4th in the Worlds stays in the u15, along with 10th placed Theo Sultana, and Tom no doubt has his eye on the European u15 boys’ title. Lucie Pianazza, 4th in the Worlds, will be eager for the u17 girls European title.
The one to watch in the u15 girls is Italian Georgia Speciale, winner at the Worlds.
See who’s entered already here.
Torbole’s Europeans will be an eco-friendly event. What does this mean? It symbolizes a great deal for all. No plastic water bottles afloat and ashore (they will be forbidden everywhere in event site), but glassware only. Thermos on coach boats. No plastic plates for lunches and parties but possibly pieces of pottery or at least recycled ones. Nor plastic cutlery. But metal knives, forks and spoons. As few cars as possible for transfers to and from hotels: riding a bicycle that you can rent for the whole time. More info in next weeks.
