Day 2 of the 2017 South American windsurfing championships and Buenos Aires river delta is revealing more of its secrets. It was a beautiful but very tricky day with light wind and strong current. [more]
This river has brought up many great champions and Coach Raul Saubidet explained why. “The wind was from the north and sometimes from the north east whilst the current went from north to south so sometimes, when it is light winds, you have to go a different direction from the current, then go with the current when you feel it is windy – and take care of the lay lines!”
3 further races were completed for all fleets. Always the top guys were in the front. The flat water, difficult start, changing wind direction . . . “This has been the best test for the Techno Class up to now. They now know everything they need to know about Buenos Aires in two days!”
Four World Sailing classes are competing for continental titles – including both the Olympic windsurfing class (RS:X) and the Youth Olympic windsurfing class (Techno 293 Plus).
3 racing days still to go! Stay tuned on the official event website!
