The first North Sea Cup event of 2009 was already a big success. Almost 50 competitors from France, United Kingdom, Holland and Belgium travelled to Ostend for the weekend 9/10 May for some exciting international competition.[more] The Techno293 fleet completed seven races during the weekend, from patchy light wind with strong current on Saturday up to 16 knots and big fun planing conditions on Sunday. Stuart Hards from the UK showed a great overall performance, followed shortly by U15 sailor Kieran Martin (GBR) and Kiran Badloe (NED) who scored as much race wins as the first two Brits together.
