Friday 5th March begins the 2010 North American Championships as part of the 25th Calema Midwinters windsurfing festival. Over 20 competitors from 5 countries have registered to date, with late entries expected to boost the fleet to 30.[more]
Sailors representing Canada, Guatemala, Mexico, Peurto Rico and USA will be competing for both the North American titles and the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) qualification places that are allocated to this continental championship.
Two boys and two girls will each qualify their nations for this summer’s youth games in Singapore. Extra significance has been placed upon this event by US Sailing – should a sailor qualify USA for YOG, they will also be selected to represent their country in the windsurfing event.
