Day 2 of the Civitavecchia Spring Trophy brought different sailing conditions and changes in the leaderboard at the close of racing. With 13-15 knots over the course area throughout the day, it was possible to start on time and to complete a full schedule of 3 races for both boys and girls.[more]
In the Boys’ division only Mayan Rafic (ISR900) was able to hold on to a podium position, but he dropped to 3rd overall. However, he lost first place only on a tie-breaker, with both Chun Leung Cheng (HKG 16) and Kieran Martin (GBR 926) first and second respectively; also finishing the day on 15 points!
Star sailor of the day is tied between Kieran and Kiran Badloe (NED 194) , the Dutch sailor finishing with 2 first in races 3 & 4, and winning race 3 by a big margin.
In the Girls’ division Naomi Cohen (ISR 7) held on to her overnight lead 10th in race 4. Rewarded for her equally consistent performance, overall, was Veronica Fanciulli (ITA 82) – today’s star perfomer in the girls. Moving up into 3rd place overall was Audrey Yong Pei Lin (SIN 2).
Nobody can afford to relax in either fleet with so many capable performers in the chasing pack.
