About 240 sailors from 14 autonomous regions gathered to race in 4 sailing classes in the Bay of Palma, Mallorca, under the organization of the Club Nautic S’Arenal and sponsored by Pabisa Beach Club. [more]Vicente Castello was victorious as Techno Champion after 12 races, despite breaking a mast on the penultimate day which put him in trouble!
His nearest rival, Vieito Thomas, took three bullets and put the pressure on reaching the final day with a single point between them, but Vicente fought off the challenge to ensure the title of champion of Spain. Vieito thus settled for silver, with four points more than the champion, while the bronze was for his girlfriend Lara Lagoa, also first woman.
