Thursday 17 January marked the start of the SIM 32nd Singapore Open Windsurfing Championships. Techno 293 competitors took to the water for the first time on Friday, [more]Day 2 of the Championships, and were challenged to shifty winds with wind strength averaging at 7 to 8 knots and gusting up to 15 knots. A total of three races were completed in the RS:One, RS:X and Techno 293 classes all racing today.

The Hong Kong team dominated in the Techno 293 class, taking a clean sweep of the top four positions, Kikabhoy Rafeek taking all three bullets.

Regrettably, rain stopped play and there was no further racing for Techno 293 at this event – a complete wash out on day three with rain pouring from early morning till the evening. The race committee cancelled all races at about 3pm and many took advantage of the calm conditions with some SUP.  And Day 4 was exactly the same.
