An annual event, the 29th SIM-Singapore Open Windsurfing Championship is the biggest event on the Singapore windsurfing calendar which sees top local windsurfers being pitted against the best in the region. [more]Every year, the event attracts competitors from Thailand, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Malaysia and Indonesia including top windsurfers from the regions.
Held from 8 to 10 January 2010 at the National Service Resort and Country Sea Sports Centre, next year’s event is expected to draw more than 140 competitors from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, Hong Kong, Japan, China, and South Korea, including the Singapore YOG squad for Windsurfing, with many using the event to prepare for the Techno 293 Asian Championships in January 2010 and also the inaugural Youth Olympic Games (YOG) in August 2010.
