Comes to an end the National Windsurfing Championships 2008, which began on Thursday December 4 to Sunday 7, on the island of Cozumel, Q Roo. [more]

The Cozumel Island is a great place to practice windsurf surrounded by the beautiful caribbean sea and where the wind was absent after a week blowing 20-25 knots

It is a pity that was not taken into account the timing of year-end exams and the date of this championship, due to which several children and young students could not participate because they were in a period of review or revision.

8 races were validated during the three-day event. With winds of 5 to 10 knots in all the races from the northeast and wave conditions were very flat.

The competition was clearly of benefit to practitioners of low wind.

In the category BIC Techno 293 Major Junior (ie under 17), 10 participants competed. Amalinalli Martinez of Cozumel, won 6 of 8 races and finished national champion, winning the overall in his class.  On the other hand the male category, won Yucatan Noah Alcocer nevertheless was second last year in Progress.

In the category BIC Techno 293 Youth Minor (ie under 15), 11 participants competed. Daniel Quintanilla, took the title easily winning 6 of 8 races. In the women’s fleet, the Yucatecan Beatríz Castillo won the national championship again
