Competitors in the 7.8 and 6.8 divisions can only use the Bic One Design Sail and Rig as supplied by Bic Sport.
However, a question arose concerning both the attachment of adjustable outhaul systems to the Bic OD Boom and the options when repairing the back end boom fitting.
The ISAF recommended and approved a change to class rules to provide a clear answer:
C.8.2 (b) Fittings attached to the rig supplied by the manufacturer shall not be removed or replaced unless with fittings of the same characteristics and function. Rivets may be replaced by rivets, screws, or bolts with optional nuts.
Therefore, an easy and effective repair can be made to the boom back end fitting; but the fitting supplied cannot be replaced by a different fitting.
