Class Rules
Competitors are reminded that only the Bic One Design (OD) rigs are to be used for the 2008 world championships. Under 15 sailors in the 6.8 division must use the Bic 6.8 OD rig; under 17 sailors in the 7.8 division must use the Bic 7.8 OD rig.[more]

That means rigs as supplied by Bic Sport and as detailed in the rig specification published on this website. The rig includes sail, mast, boom and mast extension.

Only the 460 OD mast can be used with the 6.8 OD sail; only the 490 OD mast can be used with the 7.8 OD sail.

The OD boom must be used as supplied; the class rules do not allow alteration to the fittings on the boom.  Adjustable outhauls, of choice, can be used; but only by utilising the existing fittings on the boom.

As published earlier – change down rigs can be used according to existing class rules; and for 7.8 division include all rigs on the 6.8 Approved List; for 6.8 division any 5.5 sm (or less) sail.

Charter Equipment
As planned, both One Design (6.8 and 7.8) rigs have been extensively distributed since February; forward orders have been distributed; rigs are in stock and being delivered as ordered. It is assumed that competitors for the worlds have got their rigs and have had the opportunity to train and prepare.

A limited number of charter boards and rigs will be available.

If you want to be considered for charter (and preference will be given to competitors from outside Europe, or from “emerging” nations) or have ordered rigs and are experiencing difficulty with delivery, contact immediately, or by 13th June latest:    techno293@internationalwindsurfing.com

If you have questions contact the club immeadiately. Use the form attached to the Notice of Race.  You must also book with the club if you are bringing a camper van and require on site parking.
